COP: THESE FOR DIABETES? “NO, I USE THEM TO SHOOT UP HEROIN”
On 05/30/2025, I assisted the Crossville Police Department on a traffic stop at 127 North and Lawson Rd. I approached the passenger side to speak with the passenger. I asked the passenger for his name, and he told me it was Garry Reed. He didn’t have a driver’s license. And he was on parole. When asked if there was anything illegal in the car, he said he had two syringes in his pocket. I asked him if he had diabetes, and he said no, that he used to shoot up heroin.
After running Gary through dispatch, Gary came back with a Valid driver’s license. After the passenger said he didn’t have one. I asked dispatch to send a booking photo of Gary, who didn’t look like the male I was talking to. I asked the male passenger for his Social Security number; he provided a social security number which matched a female.
After I asked him what his real name was, he said it was Larry Reed, He said he lied due to being on parole and had drugs on him, and he stated it was ‘ice’ a term commonly used to describe methamphetamine, and syringes.
Later, he found an ID card with his name and date of birth. Larry was taken to the Cumberland County Jail and charged with Criminal Impersonation.
