COOKEVILLE: WOMAN STOPPED FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATION KICKS, PUNCHES, SPITS, RIPS APART POLICE CRUISER

VWigginscooltext1801813798A woman allegedly assaulted a Cookeville police officer by spitting in his face and then went berserk in the  patrol car after she was stopped for a traffic violation.

According to Cookeville Police Department warrants, Virginia D. Wiggins of Nashville Highway, Baxter, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, assault, resisting arrest and vandalism. Officer Dustin Hensley reportedly stopped Wiggins for a simple traffic violation in Cookeville, and when he made contact with the woman, she reportedly “had her left hand in her pocket and refused commands to take it out for officer safety.”

“(Wiggins) took a threatening defensive stance and pulled her hand out in a clenched fist, swinging it toward the officer who had to jump away to avoid being hit.

Wiggins was arrested for disorderly conduct – but she wasn’t done..  After she was put in the patrol car, she began kicking the Plexiglass partition between the front and back seat separating the glass from its frame and “broke the gun lock, releasing the officers patrol rifle from the lock.
