COOKEVILLE MAN POURS GAS ALL OVER HIS HOUSE, THREATENS TO BURN IT DOWN

Joshua Tayes of Cookeville is looking at three counts of aggravated assault after he threatened to burn down his own house with family in it along with threatening his wife, daughter and mother-in-law with a gun. According to the report, Tayes showed up at his wife’s workplace and was demanding money from her.  The wife called her mother to follow her home out of fear.  Tayes then drove to his own house and blocked their driveway. The wife then drove to her mother’s house. Tayes shows up there waving a pistol around threatening to shoot out all the windows in their cars, still demanding money from his wife.

Not satisfied, Tayes drove back to his own house and poured gasoline all over the inside of the home and threatened to set the house on fire. That’s when the police were called.  Hayes was arrested and hauled to jail on a $36,000 bond.
