CONVOY OF HOPE COMING TO COOKEVILLE AUG. 27TH- EVERYTHING IS FREE

Putnam County Fairgrounds in Cookeville will be the site of the Convoy of Hope this Saturday, August 27th.

The Convoy of Hope, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., will offer a number of free items and services for anyone who attends while supplies last. The event will offer groceries, shoes, health services, veterans services, haircuts, job services, family portraits, a hot lunch, a kids zone and more. It’s all free.

Convoy of Hope is a national organization helping millions across the globe. Its stop in Cookeville is supported by Trinity Church and other local churches and businesses. Participants need no identification or proof of income.

The event is open to anyone who feels like they could use a helping hand.

Cookeville’s event still needs volunteers. Those interested can sign up at convoy.org/cookeville and will be able to attend a volunteer rally at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at Trinity Algood. All of the specialized jobs have been filled; the need now is for general volunteers for jobs such as unloading and bagging groceries, serving meals, handing out bottled water and directing people.

For more information, call the church at 537-9830 or visit www.convoyofhope.org.
