The Sgt. William A. Hamby SCV Camp is pleased to announce that Saturday, March 14 at 12:00 at the Art Circle Public Library in Cumberland Room B, Scott Guthrie will be speaking on his new book Cumberland Countians in the War Between the States.  Guthrie’s book gives a brief biographical sketch of every soldier from Cumberland County who fought for the Union or the Confederacy.  Also included throughout the book are fascinating stories from the war that happened in Cumberland County.  This is the first book of its kind ever written for Cumberland County.  Guthrie has spent years researching this book and his book would be a welcome addition to any student of the Civil War.  Cumberland Countians in the War Between the States will be available for purchase at the event for $20.00 with proceeds going to Cumberland County Civil War History and Heritage Preservation.
