BYSTANDER SHOOTS, KILLS CONVENIENCE STORE ROBBER IN KNOXVILLE

A man who attempted to rob an east Knoxville convenience store early Monday morning was shot and killed by a bystander, according to police.

The Knoxville Police Department responded to the Breadbox located on the 6200 block of Asheville Highway around 2:30 a.m.

When officials arrived, the man was found dead with a gunshot wound.

Neither the Breadbox clerk or the bystander were harmed, according to police

Knoxville police are leading an investigation into the incident.

The name of the victim has not been released.

A second robbery also occurred at the Breadbox located on Millertown Pike around 3:30 a.m. Police are also investigating this incident.
