BULLYING NOT TOLERATED BY CUMBERLAND CO SCHOOLS, HOTLINE POSTED ON WEB SITE

Bullying in schools is a hot topic these days and getting a lot of attention from parents who say their child is being bullied.  It’s not uncommon to see four to five posts every day on Facebook from parents complaining that their child is subjected to bullying in school and want something done about it.  The Cumberland County School system, on their web site and Facebook page, has posted a number to call for people who wish to report bullying.  Below is the statement from the BOE site:

The Cumberland School District believes that all students have a right to a safe, healthy, nurturing enriched learning environment. Our school system recognizes that schools must be physically and emotionally safe climate for all students in order to promote and support academic achievement, citizenship, student attendance and engagement. Our school system will not tolerate behavior that infringes on the safety and emotional well-being of any student or adult. Our schools and district WILL NOT TOLERATE acts of bullying, intimidation or harassment of any student through words and actions. If you or someone you know is being bullied, please contact our anonymous bully hotline at 931-244-1055!
