BOTTLED WATER RECALL: CONTAMINATED WITH E. COLI

8129859_GNiagara Bottling is voluntarily recalling bottled water sold under several brand names after discovering one of its spring sources was contaminated with E. coli.

The brand affected are:

  • Acadia
  • Best Yet
  • Nature’s Place
  • Shaws
  • Acme
  • 7-11
  • Pricerite
  • Shoprite
  • Big Y
  • Niagara
  • Superchill
  • Western Beef Blue
  • Morning Fresh
  • Wegman’s

Niagara says they “have not received any complaints of injury or illness of any kind” and have stopped using the source because it “did not notify us in a timely manner.” Bacteria were found in the water supply on June 10.

To determine if your product is affected, look at the code on the bottle – bottles recalled start with the letter A (Allentown) or F (Hamburg), and were manufactured between June 10 to June 18. The first digit after the letter indicates the number of the production line. The next two numbers indicate the day, then the month in letters, the year, and then the time, based on a 24-hour clock.
