BONNAROO SEES 12’TH DEATH IN ITS 14 YEAR RUN

A 47 year-old man died after collapsing at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester on Friday, event officials confirmed.

The man has not been identified and festival officials said his death appeared to be related to a pre-existing cardiac issue.

The man, who was a festival patron, collapsed in the event’s main area – known as Centeroo – and was helped by a medical team within minutes, according to Carl Monzo, emergency services director for Bonnaroo. The man was cared for on-site and transported to a local hospital.

“Those who were with him informed our medical team that he was suffering from a pre-existing cardiac condition and, unfortunately, we understand that he has died,” Monzo said in a statement. “The safety and security of our patrons are our top priority, and our medical staff responded flawlessly. Our sympathy goes out to his family and friends.”

According to media reports, this is the 12’th death at Bonnaroo in the festival’s 14-year history. Officials reported no other major medical incidents at this year’s festival
