BOE CONTRACT OFFERED TO NEW DIRECTOR OF SCHOOLS JANET GRAHAM

Cumberland County Board of Education met last night and passed, on a 9-0 vote, to offer a contract to the newly appointed Director of Schools Janet Graham.  Board member Josh Stone tells us that the contract is for a term of three years at $105,000 per year with no bonuses included.  There had been talk that a bonus would be added to the contract offer.  The contract offer is $10,000 less than the current DOS Donald Andrews’ salary.   Andrews is set to leave his position in June of this year.  The Director of Schools position is the second highest salary paid to a county employee with the county Judge being paid $161,000.
