Cookeville police are investigating a body discovered in a wooded area near railroad tracks Wednesday.

Authorities have identified the body as 51-year-old Glenn Whitehead. His body was discovered by two men walking down railroad tracks.

“The area where he was found was not a remote wooded area. It was an area where he and other had been known to frequent,” said Bobby Anderson, of the Cookeville Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.

Investigators have found no signs of foul play, but Whitehead’s body was sent to a medical examiner to determine an exact cause of death.
