About 15 agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and officers with the Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Department are on the scene of the discovery of a Bledsoe County Sheriff’s Deputy’s body on a dirt road in the middle of a field in Bledsoe County.

The victim is Bledsoe County Investigator Ricky Seals who had been with the department for more than 35 years.
The body was first discovered around 2AM.
His last contact with family members was around 10PM last night, when he was in his private vehicle, off duty.

Investigators are treating the death as a homicide.

The discovery was made early Tuesday morning. Investigators are taking a close look at a Jeep that was parked near the body.

An active search is under way for suspects.

The crime scene is located on property known as the Greeson Farm. The 300 acres have been on the real estate market for about six months.

The owners, who live out of state, were not home at the time of the incident.

The crime scene is about four miles north of Pikeville, on a dirt road between Highway 127 and Old Tennessee Road, near Slaughterhouse Road.  (WRCB-TV)
