BEWARE: SAVE-A-LOT FREE GROCERY SCAM RUNNING ON FACEBOOK

ScreenHunter_206 Feb. 22 09.35ScreenHunter_205 Feb. 22 09.34While scrolling through Facebook we came across this post claiming Save-a-lot grocery stores giving away $350.00 free coupons.  Well that got our attention.  Once you click on the post it took us to another page that showed the steps in getting the free grocery coupon along with a ‘count down’ of the free coupons remaining.  However, each time you click on the post, the countdown is raised back to 300 or so. The first step given is ‘share’ the page on Facebook (in order to get it on as many Facebook feeds as possible).  We contacted Save-a-lot in Crossville and management told us they were NOT giving away coupons for free groceries and had no information about the Facebook post.  We didn’t click the steps of course, but we think eventually, by following all the instructions there will be some kind of ‘information gathering’ page or it could simply be a scam to gather ‘click-thru’ actions for some kind of ad-related purposes (not involving the real Save-a-lot stores).  We advise you to not click on the post and certainly don’t follow through with ‘sharing’ as the page instructs.
