On June 8, 2023 a city officer took a phone call from a victim in reference to a scam. The victim stated that a little over a month ago, she received an automated phone call that said she needed to enter her food stamp card number and PIN or else her account would be frozen.

She stated that she typed in that information and on June 3, 2023 and she noticed that her food stamp card was charged at Smart Shop Deli and Grill in Brooklyn, New York. The victim stated she did not have the number that called her, but the officer googled the business which showed an address of 1184 Broadway Brooklyn, NY 11221, but it did not have a phone number listed. 

No further information was made available regarding the caller.
