Crossville police were called to Old Mail Road on Wednesday after the homeowner reported that someone tried to break into her house. The victim said she was taking a shower around 10 a.m. when she heard a loud thump. While investigating the noise, she heard a sound at the back door followed by a loud vehicle starting up. Police report that the frame on the back door had been damaged but entry was not gained into the residence. No suspects have been named at this time.
