Nikki Burgess, 36, was last seen in May 2014 when she dropped her child off at school.

Caleb Cannon, the father of their child, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with first-degree murder. He’s being held on a $750,000 bond.

Metro Nashville PD said Cannon was arrested by detectives at a hearing in juvenile court that he was scheduled to attend.

Cannon had previously been considered a person of interest in the case.
