A TBI MOST WANTED PRISONER ON THE LOOSE, ESCAPES FROM ERLANGER SUNDAY
Police in Tennessee are searching for a jail inmate who escaped custody at a hospital.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports 29-year-old Anthony Labron Bell escaped Erlanger Hospital on Sunday, and has now been added to the TBI’s most wanted list.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says Bell last was seen in handcuffs wearing a green hospital gown with no shoes. Bell had been brought to the hospital from the Hamilton County Jail on Friday.
Officers located Bell’s hospital gown and ID bracelet. His handcuffs were not located, but officers believe he may have been able to remove them or cut the chain.
Some of Bell’s Charges include aggravated burglary, felon in possession of a firearm and he has a statutory rape case pending in Georgia.
Police say that there is an Internal Affairs Investigation to determine if proper procedures were followed.
UPDATE:
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has located the hospital gown and bracelet they believe Anthony Bell was wearing when he escaped custody.
According to an update, shared on the department’s Facebook page, Chattanooga Police responded to reports of a commercial burglary at 1532 Riverside Drive around 2 p.m. Sunday.
When police arrived they found the business had been burglarized. Officer located Bell’s hospital identification bracelet and the green hospital gown he was wearing when he escaped.
