Local authorities, along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, are currently investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains which were discovered Monday afternoon in an area off the Tinch to Banner Springs Road in southeastern Fentress County.

 The Sheriff’s Office was notified about 1 p.m. Monday of the discovery which was made by some individuals digging arrowheads.

The remains were sent to the  State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.
