A multi-vehicle wreck Thursday evening leaves 6 people dead.  Chattanooga police say a total of 9 vehicles and 15 people were involved.

Police say everything north of exit 11 may be shut down into the early morning hours. The wreck is at Ooltewah just north of Chattanooga on I-75  At this time traffic is being redirected to Old Lee Hwy. The accident happened just after 7:00pm just north of the exit.  When the accident first occurred one of the vehicle was on fire. A semi trailer is one of the vehicles involved.

If you must travel this direction use an alternate route such as Highway 11 through Apison/Collegedale, this will lead to Bradley County. or Highway 58 through Hamilton County into Bradley County where drivers can return to the Interstate.
