JOIN CNF IN SAYING ‘THANKS’ TO ALL WHO ARE WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK FOR US
Crossville News First would like to extend a huge ‘THANK YOU” to the many agencies and civilians who have worked around the clock the past couple of days helping to ease the devastating impact from the worst weather disaster to hit the Cumberland Plateau in many many years. Thank you to: The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, Crossville City Police Department, Cumberland County Fire Department, Crossville Fire Department, Crossville City employees, Cumberland County EMA, Cumberland County Highway Department, Cumberland County Rescue Squad, TDOT employees, National Guard soldiers, American Red Cross, local area churches, Cumberland Medical Center and all the doctors and nurses, Bread of Life Mission, Tennessee Highway Patrol and especially VEC crews who have been joined by out of state workers to restore electricity, all phone company and cable company crews working to restore phone service and Internet connections along with countless ‘neighbors’ who have risen to the occasion and helped out those who couldn’t help themselves and performed welfare checks on other neighbors. We also want to thank the local area businesses who still had electricity and served thousands of people rushing in for supplies and food. Yes we know it is your business to serve customers, but this was an extraordinary situation and took lots of patients and hard work.
This has been and still is for many a very stressful and, at times, fearful two days – not knowing when the electricity would come back on – or can’t even get out of a driveway and seek shelter for heat and food. Most will agree this has been the most devastating weather disaster in many decades for the Cumberland Plateau. So yes – we are very grateful for everyone who has worked tirelessly to help during this time of crisis.
