ROCKWOOD MAN ATTACKED/STABBED PARENTS OVER HIDDEN BEER, SHOT BY MOM THEN RUNS
A Roane County man faces attempted second degree murder charges after he led authorities on an all night manhunt Wednesday night and scaring local residents who were advised to lock their doors and be on alert Steven Edward Jones is also charged with two counts of aggravated domestic assault after he allegedly stabbed his step-father Frederick Silvey over 20 times during a family argument at a residence on Dry Hill Rd. Carolyn Silvey. Jones, who was living with his mother and step-father, only recently got out of prison back in November. According to reports, Jones’ mother told police that Jones became drunk on beer, left for awhile then came back only to find his mom had hidden the booze. Jones became irate, attacked his mother and then stabbed Silvey. Jones’ mother was able to get a gun and shoot him in the chest. Jones then ran off into the woods, leading authorities on a manhunt all night before he came back to the residence asking for medical attention for the gunshot wound. Both Silvey and his wife were treated for injuries. Jones was treated for his wound and will be taken to the Roane County Jail after he’s released from the hospital.
