Roane County authorities have captured the man who stabbed his step-father Wednesday night after a family dispute. According to reports, 46-year-old Steven Edward Jones was taken into custody this morning after he returned to the scene of the crime at 2058 Dry Hill Rd. Roane County Sheriff Jack Stockton says that after eluding authorities throughout the night and early morning, Jones returned to a garage on the property in order to get out of the cold and to ask for medical assistance. Jones was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the chest. Wednesday night, Jones allegedly stabbed Fred Silvey several times and also attacked his mother, Carolyn. Before running from the scene, his mother was able to shoot at him and apparently the bullet found its mark. Jones remains in custody while being hospitalized.
