65 FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE BLAZE AT ELECTION OFFICE-ROAD DEPARTMENT OVERNIGHT
More than half of the building that houses the Cumberland County Election Commission along with the Cumberland County Road Department caught fire last night.
The building is formerly Alpha Equipment. City Fire Chief Chris South told CNF that there were more than 65 firefighters from Crossville Fire Department and County Fire Department with help from the Fairfield Glade fire department joining in battling the fire. Chief South told us there will be an extensive evaluation of the damage Friday as well as determining the cause of the blaze.
The call came in at 9:04pm Thursday night. Firefighters fought the blaze until after midnight at the 20,000 square foot building with some units on the scene overnight to watch for any flareups.
