ROCKWOOD MURDER SUNDAY, SUSPECT IN CUMBERLAND CO JAIL, $1M BOND

ROCKWOOD, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a 70-year-old man was arrested Sunday night for first degree murder.

In a press release Monday morning, TBI said it was asked to assist the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday night on George Anna Drive in Rockwood. (Actually, George Anna Drive in located in Cumberland County)

 

According to TBI, deputies arrived on the scene and found the victim, Michael Kerley, 36. Kerley was given medical attention but was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. TBI said during the course of the investigation agents determine Devin Schillinger, 70, was responsible for the shooting.

TBI said Schillinger was arrested Sunday night and charged with first degree murder. He was booked into the Cumberland County Jail on a $1 million bond.
