On 10/16/2024 , city units were dispatched to Obed St in reference to a Domestic Assault. Upon arrival, an officer observed the victim on the sidewalk several residences away from her residence. She stated that her daughter, Lisandra Diaz, had thrown sandals and headphones at her face and body. After the altercation occurred, she attempted to leave out the back door to call 911. Once out the back door, Ms. Diaz grabbed her by the shirt pulling her down onto the ground. As a result, the left side of the victim’s shirt was ripped. The officer observed the collarbone part of the fabric ripped and was only able to locate one of the sandals that the victim stated that were thrown at her.  The officer observed the right side of the victim’s cheekbone started to look swollen where she stated the items had struck her face.

The officer spoke with Ms. Diaz who stated the victim had ripped her own shirt. She also stated that she had been on the phone with her grandma during the alleged altercation. She stated that she could call her, and she would vouch for her innocence. The officer asked if she would attempt to call her and when Ms. Diaz pulled up her text messages to her grandma, he observed that over 20 messages were sent to her grandma without a response. The officer asked to see her call log and noted that she attempted to call her grandma around the time that the altercation was dispatched approximately 6-8 times without her grandma answering the phone. Ms. Diaz stated to another officer that she had previously been arrested for domestic assault on her grandma. The victim had also stated that Ms. Diaz is not allowed at her grandma’s house due to her also being scared of Ms. Diaz from previous altercations.

The victim stated that she was scared for her life due to the assaults that had occurred and continued to occur when Ms. Diaz stays at her residence. The officer was able to deem Ms. Diaz as the primary aggressor. Ms. Diaz was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center and charged with Domestic Assault.
