DRIVER SERVICE LOCATIONS TO CLOSE IN CROSSVILLE AND ROANE COUNTY FOR A SINGLE DAY

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Two driver service locations will close for a single day next week, while crews install new equipment meant to make transactions easier and faster.

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security said the Crossville Driver Services Center, located at 136 Deeley Street, would close on Oct. 14 and reopen the following day. Driver services at the Roane County Clerk, located at 200 East Race Street in Kingston, would close on Oct. 16 and reopen on Oct. 17.

The department said the locations would close to install new credentialing equipment and self-service kiosks. The new self-service kiosks can be used for many typical transactions such as renewing or replacing driver’s licenses, changing addresses, updating emergency contact information, paying reinstatement fees, advancing a teen license and requesting a license reissue.

The kiosks will be able to take photos and can process payments with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit and debit cards.
