FATAL SHOOTING AT CUMBERLAND COUNTY HOME
SPARTA, Tenn. (WATE) — An investigation is underway after Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies found a man dead from an apparent gunshot wound in Sparta.
The sheriff’s office released that on Tuesday, August 6 at 7:06 p.m., deputies responded to a home on Yellow Cliff Creek Road for a shooting call. Inside the home, Jack Daniel Carter, 35, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound. Cumberland County Sheriff’s Investigators, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and members of the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene to investigate.
Carter’s body was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Nashville for autopsy. CCSO said that the evidence will be analyzed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory.
