White County Sheriff Steve Page is holding a community search for Roy Whited on Tuesday, May 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anyone wanting to assist the Sheriff and the White Co Sheriff’s search team with the search needs to be at the command post on Love Joy Road (toward the end of the road) by 8:00 a.m. this Tuesday. Everyone will need to wear proper attire and bring insect repellant. The property is very woody and snakey. After this date, only proper authorities will be permitted on the property as it is private property.

Mr. Whited, who was a state-winning championship basketball coach at White County High School from 1993 to 2001, was last seen on Friday, May 3, 2024 near Lovejoy Road in Sparta.
