CROSSVILLE MAN WANTED FOR THEFT OF PROPERTY FROM CAR AT PLATEAU BOWLING ALLEY

On October 23, 2023 at approximately 6:30 p.m. a City Officer was dispatched to Plateau Bowling Lanes on Hwy 70 E. in reference to items being stolen from a vehicle. When the officer arrived on scene he spoke with the victim who advised him that while his black Honda Accord was in the parking lot, the JVC touchscreen stereo/dash and VTEC controller were stolen from the vehicle. He estimated the cost of the items at $1100.00. The officer observed that there were wires sticking out from the dash area where a stereo had been removed and that the glove box was open and the papers which had been inside it were laying on the floorboard and passenger seat. The victim advised the officer that the speakers appeared to have been moved but that nothing else appeared to be missing at this time.

The officer was able to review security camera footage of the incident. He observed a male in a yellow t-shit, gray sweatpants, black and white shoes, and a gray ball cap. When the male first walked into view  he was holding a cellphone in his hands with two bags over his shoulders. He walked by the vehicle multiple times before approaching the front of the business. He paced in front of the business while looking back at the Honda before finally approaching the vehicle again, scanning the parking lot, then opening the driver’s side rear passenger door and entered the vehicle. The male was then seen leaning through the space between the front seats towards the front of the vehicle. While the male was still in the vehicle, a white or silver Toyota Avalanche slowly drove in the front of the vehicle before stopping on the Feed Store side of the parking lot. The male then went to the truck and got into the passenger seat  leaving the passenger door open. The male then re-entered the Honda  without anything in his hands and exited with the electronics from the front of the vehicle. He then walked back to the truck and got  back into the passenger seat. The vehicle then left the parking lot, traveling east on Hwy 70 E.

The officer was able to positively identify the male as Paul Michael Lenz base on visible tattoos on his forearms and his previous booking photos. The officer checked the area east of the bowling alley but was unable to locate the Toyota still in the area. A warrant for Theft of Property was issued against Mr. Lenz. The videos from the security cameras were placed into digital evidence.
