CROSSVILLE MAN CHARGED WITH DEADLY 2022 RHEA COUNTY STABBING

A Crossville man was taken into custody Wednesday for a fatal stabbing that happened in Rhea County in 2022.

On May 12 of 2022, Rhea County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a report of a stabbing on Possum Trot Road in Grandview.

When they arrived, deputies found Thomas C. Simpson’s body deceased. A joint investigation was performed by both the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Detectives and TBI Agents.

On October 2, a man identified as a suspect, Stanton Lee Reagan of Crossville, was indicted by the Rhea County Grand Jury. He was taken into custody in Robertson County, TN and extradited to Rhea County.

Reagan has been charged with:

  • First Degree Murder
  • Especially Aggravated Robbery
  • First Degree Murder in Perpetration of a Crime
  • Possession of Methamphetamine

Reagan is being held on a $1,000,000 bond
