On August 5, 2023 city units were dispatched to Buc-ee’s for a theft of cough syrup. When officers arrived on scene they made contact with quality control. They stated that a male wearing pink shorts, blue shirt, and flip flops entered the store on August 4, 2023 at 2:o9 p.m. with an older male. He walked to the isle containing the Tussin cough syrup (valued at $3.47) and placed it on a shelve down the isle. The male then walked away and came back removing the Tussin, taking a knee and consuming the entire contents of the syrup. The male then exited the store on the west entry and was seen on video getting into a gray Nissan pickup truck.

The surveillance footage had a clear visual of the license plate. The registration was verified and checked through dispatch. Video surveillance footage was entered into digital evidence at the Crossville City PD. The man’s name is being withheld pending further investigation.
