CROSSVILLE MAN TELLS POLICE THEY NEED TO SEARCH HIS CAMPER FOR TWO BODIES

On August 5, 2023 a City officer made contact with a male identified as Jerry Jackson on East First Street. Mr. Jackson was screaming, moving around sporadically, and smacking a sign with a stick that had a metal pick on the end of it. Mr. Jackson dropped the stick before the officer made contact with him. Mr. Jackson was asked what drugs he had taken and he stated he had taken some drugs but didn’t clarify what they were.

Mr. Jackson then stated to the officer that he needed to search his camper for two bodies; however, Mr. Jackson only mentioned one name and stated that she was dead. Mr. Jackson was informed by the officer that his camper had already been searched when he and another officer were searching for him regarding a previous incident that had occurred earlier in the night, and that the females were ok.

The officer also informed Mr. Jackson that he had observed his drug paraphernalia sitting out on his table in the camper during the search. Mr. Jackson was placed in custody due to him being a danger to himself and the general public. The officer then observed Mr. Jackson’s stick and it appeared to be broken in half. The officer collected the stick and disposed of it at the Crossville Police Department. Mr. Jackson was transported to the Cumberland County Sheriffs Office to intake and charged with public intoxication.
