REMAINS FOUND IN DECATUR COUNTY ARE HOLLY BOBO’S
The TBI confirmed at a press conference late Monday night that human remains found in Decatur County on Sunday belonged to Holly Bobo.
TBI Director Mark Gwyn offered his condolences to the Bobo family before making the announcement at the brief press conference.
“In light of the recent discovery of possible human remains found in Decatur County, TBI has been able to confirm … that the remains are of Holly Bobo,” Gwyn said.
Newly elected District Attorney Matt Stowe then took the podium, saying he had just had a very difficult conversation with the Bobo family.
“You can delay justice, but you can’t deny it,” Stowe said.
Gwyn and Stowe did not take questions.
Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd, who only took office days ago, took the podium several minutes later to discuss his role in the ongoing Bobo investigation.
Zachary Adams was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and especially aggravated kidnapping in connection with Bobo’s disappearance earlier this year.
Byrd shared a message to anyone else who may be involved in Bobo’s death.
“You can run but you can’t hide. We’ll figure out who you are and you’ll be brought to justice,” Byrd said.
Another man, Jason Wayne Autry, has also been charged with kidnapping and murder in the case.
Jeffrey Pearcy and his stepbrother, Mark Pearcy, are both charged with tampering with evidence and accessory after the fact.
Two Benton County men discovered a human skull around 10 a.m. on Sunday while searching for ginseng. The pair found the remains in a remote, wooded area off of County Corner Road near Holladay, TN.
Bobo went missing from her family’s home in Parsons, TN on April 13, 2011.
