CROSSVILLE MAN HOLDS UP FISTS AND TELLS OFFICERS “I’M NOT F****** DOING THIS TODAY”…..THEN THIS HAPPENS
On 05/31/2023 City units were dispatched to the area of Woodmere Mall in reference to a male causing a disturbance. Upon arrival in the area an officer observed a male matching the description given by dispatch throwing his hands in the air and talking to himself. The man was identified to be Stacey Austin whom officers knew from previous experience. Upon trying to make contact with Mr. Austin he made two closed fists, faced an officer and stated “I’m not f****** doing this today.” At that time another officer assisted in taking Mr. Austin to the ground. Mr. Austin continued to actively resist by refusing to put his hands behind his back. The officers administered approximately 5-6 closed fists strikes to Mr. Austin’s right and left kidney area in order to gain control of his movements. After several moments Mr. Austin’s movements were able to be controlled and he was placed into custody.
Mr. Austin was then transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center where officers applied for and were granted warrants for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication that were served on him at intake.
