MAJOR DRUG STING IN ROANE COUNTY NETS 18 INDICTMENTS
State authorities say 18 people in Roane County have been indicted by a Knoxville federal grand jury on conspiracy to manufacture 50 grams or more of meth. Investigators say the five individuals from Rockwood, 9 from Harriman, two from Kingston and one from Oakdale bought pseudoephedrine at pharmacies and was using it to make meth in various locations in Roane County. In a separate case from the 17 indicted, 33-year-old David Neal of Kingston was indicted for conspiracy to manufacture five grams or more of methamphetamine. Authorities say the indictments is the result of a multi-agency investigation including the FBI, TBI, the Roane, Blount and Knox County sheriff’s offices and the Harriman, Kingston and Rockwood Police Departments.
