The heat is on – and not just the major heat wave.  Cumberland County Sheriff Casey Cox tells CNF that Deputies and other emergency agencies have been covered up with several critical calls this week. Tuesday deputies were called to Red Williams Road where a man was found dead from a gunshot to his chest in the front yard.  At the same residence, a woman, believed to be the man’s stepdaughter,  was found with a gunshot to her head and flown out to U.T. Medical Center where she later died. That investigation is ongoing but it is suspected to be a murder/suicide. Wednesday, Deputies were called to Birchwood Dr.  off Stanley St. after it was reported a man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the arm.  Marvin Joe-Lee Randolph, 40, Woodland Dr., was taken into custody with charges pending in that incident Thursday morning at a location off Mantooth Dr. in Lake Tansi.  Thursday night, Fire Units along with Sheriff Deputies were called to Dunbar Road for a car fire and a body inside the car.  That investigation is ongoing.
