JOHN RICH WANTS OBSCENE AND PORNOGRAPHIC LITERATURE GONE FROM SCHOOLS
Country Music Star John Rich has a beef with the Tennessee Education system that allows obscene and pornographic literature permitted for students to view in schools. Rich says he recently met with Governor Lee who agreed something needs to be done and promised to present the dilemma to the Tennessee General Assembly next month. Here is the Tweet from John:

He is correct. It’s a shame what Schools are teaching these days.

They need to bring spelling, common sense math, knowing how to read a analog clock, and myriad of other things back to the classroom for the students to be learning. And before anyone loses their knickers over saying that, and start hollering “you’re not from here “!!! Oh but I . Originally from Crossville. TN. And what I don’t understand is why the article never mentions exactly what kind they are seeing. I mean they need to think of all the stuff they see on their phones and the internet.

Kaylee, you are spot on about the need to restore common sense in scholastic programs!
As for some other folks, there seems to be an attitude of “Well, they all have phones, x-rated TV, etc etc.
No, they don’t ALL come in with their innocence completely shredded. I have 5 grandsons who are being carefully raised with minimal screen time. These aren’t overtly religious homes, but both sets of parents have a hands on, wise limits for the boys.
There seems to be a lot of belly aching about what is available on phones, computers and the like, but even if a child escapes all of that, it’s being forced fed to them right at school! Why fail them here, just because places have or may have already let them down?
Strengthen that which remains. Raise up a standard. Little hearts are dependent on us to *have* standards, and make a safe place for them to grow.
Doesn’t that seem like a sensible place to start? Make sure that the school is as safe and wholesome as they can make it?
And who says it has to be one or the other? Can’t we start with what we can control, e.g. the school curriculum, and work on protecting kids from predators and other horrible issues that come via electronics as well?

I agree with you. Not everyone gives their kids phones and just because it is there does not mean it is okay. The national education system has gone very far _______. People should check out who is backing it today and why things are happening.

What? He is worried about that when there is social media they look at & post nudes of thirselves at early ages? Really before knocking literature with art work that is part of our history…..clean up what your kids look at on social media & find common to start thinking about sex at the age of 12! Everyone worries about the wrong thing when there should be better sensoring on the internet. Yea a parent can try to monitor it, but they find ways around it!

We are wanting to stop this in Washington State. Is there any place to find the poster John Rich had and/or a list of the books of concern?

But the school board wouldn’t let Rich show the pix at a board meeting, calling them “inappropriate”. How are they OK in a school book if they’re inappropriate to show at a school board meeting???

Jim, look up Heidi St. John; she’s currently running for Congress in Washington’s 3rd district. She has adamantly resisted what’s happening in education… I’m sure that can lead you to helpful resources.

not all children have social media not all children see inappropriate things on tv. some parents still raise their children with morals and restrictions and LOVE!!! it’s absolutely not the government’s right to allow books that teach sex or transgenderism or pedophillia in our children’s schools. so praise God that someone stood up and brought it to Gov Lee’s attention!!! this absolutely has to stop !!!!!!!

You are comparing what a kid mat discover to an adult who provides pornography? One is natural curiosity, the other is considered a set crime. I suppose you would stand still while some adult gave your kid a hustler magazine?

Luke 17:1-2 He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! (2) “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble.”
What an awesome responsibility teachers have and yet it would seem that there are districts around our nation that do not realize just what a fragile, valuable treasure they have been entrusted with!!!! GOD HEAL OUR NATION

We are also exposing the public libraries which are pushing pedophilia in the kids literature. Get involved for your kids, your grandkids, the kids whose parents may not be able to read English, the kids left at the library while single moms go for a job interview.

What I find funny is all the reactions about how they shouldn’t see this stuff. Who on here knows EXACTLY what he was complaining about? The pictures aren’t posted. How can you be outraged over an image you haven’t even seen? I will withhold comment until I see what he was objecting to.

Totally agree with your common sense response to the unknown “issue” that – just because it’s John Rich – everyone is in a reactive “us against them” approach. So typical of the world we find ourselves in these days!!

There’s always someone from the left with a “whatabout”. For once, try to stick to the topic. If you have an issue with a parent’s attire, address it. This gentleman (and many other involved parents and grandparents) has an issue with pornography in our schools. His kids are 7, 10 and 11. Far too young to be exposed to the crap available in public schools.

I am confused. Didn’t this singer have a hit song with words advising women to “save a horse, ride a cowboy”? Very interesting.

I challenge John Rich or anyone else to find pornographic material in school libraries. Teachers, including librarians, are not pushing any lifestyle or pedophilia. They are your friends and neighbors. You go to church and live in the same communities with them. They are not your enemies. This is dangerous misinformation.
