17th DOLLAR GENERAL STORE IN CROSSVILLE TO OPEN SOON
Dollar General Corporation is an American chain of variety stores headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. As of October 2021, Dollar General operates 18,000 stores in the continental United States. The company is completing construction on its 17th store in Cumberland County. The location is at the intersection of Highway 70E and Miller Ave. Bypass. It’s becoming a running joke that there’s a Dollar General store on every corner. Turns out, that’s the basic business model for Dollar General – to be ‘everywhere. The most recent problem consumers are encountering is ‘out of stock’ merchandise at some Dollar General stores. This may well be due to the so-called ‘supply chain’ slow down nationwide which is affecting many retailers. We found one Dollar General with many shelves bare of essential items for days. We were told by workers, they simply weren’t getting stock fast enough and that some of the delivery drivers were passing them up.

Well not sure if this is the reason they not stocked but I was at dg in Pikeville the one by the 3 way market a dg truck showed up on time but the lady inside made the truck leave saud it was just her and 1 other worker and she could not unloaf it or shock the store so not sure of that us whats wrong at all the dg stores but I was in the store making a purchase the driver came in she flat out told him to leave and come back the next day. When I left the dg truck g ad stopped at the school because he had to wait all night because this lady would not allow the truck thus they are low because they a r e not stocking imo

The employee in Pikeville probably told him to wait until the next day because it was a fresh truck (with frozen and refrigerated merchandise, including milk and dairy). These fresh trucks take almost 3-4 hours to unload for 2 people, depending on how many pieces the truck is carrying. With her doing it alone, it could’ve easily taken 5 hours. Because it is frozen, refrigerated, and perishable food, it needs to be stocked within a smaller amount of time. She was saving merchandise by doing this, and was probably told by her supervisor to do it this way.
