SHOOTER STILL ON THE LOOSE IN CROSSVILLE – MAYBE
Based on the information we’ve gathered so far – the suspect who shot a man in Crossville earlier this evening has not been apprehended.
Police have been searching the area of North Main Street near the York Building and elsewhere. The shooting took place on Burnett Street. CNF has contacted the Sheriff’s office front desk person who said “We cannot give out any information. We were told that a press statement would be given by Public Information Officer of the Crossville Police Department Brian Eckelson by 8am Thursday morning. Based on other information, it is believed the shooter is still at large or has possibly left town.
CNF was inquiring due to concern for residents for the area in which the shooter may be near and for the residents to be on the alert and possibly lock their doors for safety. We will update this as soon as we gather more information tonight.

This is NOT an active shooter. That’s not what the term means. A shooting, yes, but if it were still active, you’d know where the shooter is because they’d still be actively shooting. This was a shooting. Stop trying to use newsy buzz words that don’t apply.
