COUNTY JOB OPENING, $7,712 PER MONTH – SUBMIT APPLICATION TO COUNTY MAYOR’S OFFICE

Due to the untimely death of the Cumberland County Property Assessor, Lori Ann Powell, the County Commission is obligated to fill half of her remaining term by hiring an Assessor of Property.  The term for the winning applicant would be until after the next county general election in 2022.   The Assessor of Property’s office will appear on the county ballot for the primary election next May then for the general election in August.  A new County Assessor will be elected and take over the office in September of next year.  Whoever is elected next year will serve the remaining two years of the Assessor’s term ending in 2024.  The reason it is a bit confusing is that the Assessor of Property election is normally staggard and not held in the same year as all other county offices are up for election.

Anyone who wishes to apply for the position can submit a cover letter with your qualifications and related experience to Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster at 2 North Main Street Crossville, Tennesee 38555.  Applications must be submitted by July 8th at noon CT, 2021.  However, persons may also apply for the position at the July County Commission meeting as well. The salary for the position is $92,555 per year with county benefits.

The County Commission will review the applications during their July 19th meeting.
