The Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with several lawmakers and organizations to have a job fair for veterans in Cumberland County today (Tuesday).

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cumberland County Community Complex.

It is intended to help veterans and their dependents learn more about eligible benefits, employment opportunities and educational resources.

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security will be on hand to offer commercial driving certification to qualified veterans, as well as recruit veterans for open positions.

The Tennessee Department of Correction, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Tennessee Department of Military will also recruit veterans.

The next Veteran Outreach Event and Job Fair will be at Erin City Hall in Erin on July 18.
