It was 1996. Tennessee Governor Ned Ray McWherter  commissioned each county to develop a program to commemorate the Bi-Centennial of Tennessee.  Local video producer Tony Perry was commissioned by the Cumberland County Tennessee Bi-Centennial Committee to produce a documentary telling the story of the early beginnings of Cumberland County, founded November 16th, 1855.

The video below is that presentation – originally produced in 1996.  Perry was directed by county historians Barbara Parsons and the late Donald Brookhart throughout the production.  The original production was recorded on analogue video tape and later converted to digital format then distributed on DVD in 2006.  Here is the complete program for our CNF viewers to watch on the 165th anniversary of Cumberland County.
