SIMCOX FORMALLY ANNOUNCES NOT RUNNING FOR RE-ELECTION AS PROPERTY ASSESSOR
Cumberland County Assessor of Property David Simcox has formally announced he will not seek re-election in the 2020 County election. Simcox, in a letter to his employees, said “After more than fifty years in the workforce, I must say that our team of assessing professionals is no doubt the very best with whom I have worked. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your 8 to 4 workday”.
Simcox has served as Assessor of Property for the past 12 years. He told CNF that his only desire is that whoever runs for the office has a sincere interest in Cumberland County and serving the people with integrity and honesty.
Two people have pulled qualifying papers for the upcoming primary. Heath Scarbrough and Tom Howard have picked up the papers thus far. The deadline for qualifying for the race is December 12th.
