NEARLY $1MILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF CARS STOLEN OVER THE WEEKEND IN TWO TN TOWNS

A total of 12 vehicles were stolen from dealerships in Franklin and Fayetteville, Tennessee, over the weekend.

Seven high-end vehicles were stolen from Walker Chevrolet on South Carothers Parkway in Franklin on Sunday, according to a Franklin Police Department news release.

Three vehicles were also stolen from the Fayetteville Chrysler Dodge dealership, and two were stolen from the Howard Bentley Chevrolet Buick GMC dealership, said Fayetteville Police Commander Coby Templeton. Both Fayetteville businesses are located on Huntsville Highway.

The cars stolen in Franklin are valued at about $671,000, the release said. Employees came in Monday before 6 a.m. and discovered the glass door to the dealership had been shattered. One of the cars was a Corvette valued at $150,000.

“Portions of the fence were cut to gain access to the property and to drive those seven vehicles away,” the release said. Police estimate the robbery happened around 9:50 a.m. Sunday.

Franklin police are also working with Fayetteville authorities.

The stolen vehicles in Fayetteville are valued at about $320,000, Templeton said. The thefts on Huntsville Highway happened sometime late Friday night into early Saturday morning.
