KNOX MAN ROBBED, BEATEN, LEFT LOCKED IN CAR TRUNK ON I-40
KCSO’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a home invasion and robbery after a man was found in his trunk on Saturday morning.
Officers were dispatched to I-40 at Papermill after TDOT responded to an abandoned Blue Honda Accord on I-40.
TDOT workers located a victim in the trunk they said was yelling for help.
The victim said he was in his apartment on Clinton Highway when multiple suspects entered his residence and demanded mone.
KCSO said the suspects assaulted the victim causing multiple injuries including several head wounds. The suspects then stole money and took the victim from the residence and placed him in the trunk of his vehicle.
KCSO said the vehicle broke down on I-40 at Papermill and the suspects abandoned the vehicle.
At this time, it is not known how they fled or their direction of travel.
