FREE MEDICAL, DENTAL & VISION SERVICES THIS SATURDAY & SUNDAY IN COOKEVILLE
RAM will hold a mobile medical clinic on Saturday, March 18, and Sunday, March 19, at Cookeville High School located at 2335 N. Washington Ave., in Cookeville. Remote Area Medical, a non-governmental organization, specializes in providing free at-no-cost health care to underserved and uninsured people by operating free mobile medical clinics nationwide.
Last year, at the Cookeville clinic, RAM treated 878 patients and services provided reached over $543,000 in total value of care. RAM expects to serve even more patients at this this year’s clinic and has a need for volunteer medical, dental, and vision professionals. To volunteer visit RAM’s website at ramusa.org/volunteer.
Medical services at this year’s clinic will include dental cleanings, dental fillings, dental extractions, eye exams, eyeglass prescriptions, on-site eyeglass production, free eyeglasses, women’s health exams, flu shots, osteopathic manipulative treatment, HIV/AIDS and Hep-C testing, and general medical exams.
The parking lot will open at midnight the night before each clinic day. Patients can gather there to await when RAM volunteers begin dispersing numbered tickets at 3 a.m. Saturday and Sunday morning. Patients will be served on a first-come, first-served basis and must be present to receive a numbered ticket.
