80 YEAR OLD CROSSVILLE WOMAN JUMPS OUT OF PLANE….ON PURPOSE!
A Crossville woman decided to jump out of an airplane to celebrate her 80th birthday.
Dee Allen is a self-proclaimed thrill seeker. The 80 year old woman has conquered the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states, whitewater rafted rivers, and looked for anything she can to provide a rush of excitement throughout her life.
But there was one thing she still hadn’t checked off her bucket list. Allen had never been skydiving.
“I’d seen these other older people doing it, and it looked fun,” Allen said.
So to celebrate her 80th birthday, Allen decided it was about time to take the plunge through the sky. She drove to Chattanooga, boarded a plane with the Chattanooga Skydiving Company, and climbed 15,000 feet to meet her fate.
“Amazingly, I was not afraid. I didn’t have a moment of being afraid in all this,” Allen said.
Allen also continues to live a busy life by filling her weeks with working out and staying active. She regularly bowls, goes to the gym three times a week, and maintains that the secret to staying healthy is an active lifestyle.
“Get a good nights sleep, get up early in the morning and get the day going, and eat properly. Don’t over eat,” Allen explained.
Allen said she is ready to go back up and make another jump, and is hopeful to skydive once more for her 85th birthday. WVLT
