20 DOGS LIVING IN ‘HORRIBLE’ CONDITIONS RESCUED FROM MORGAN CO HOME, ARREST MADE

At least 20 dogs were rescued from a Morgan County home, according to Animal Rescue Corps from Washington D.C.

The national organization called Animal Rescue Corps. told Local 8 News the dogs were found inside the home without food or water, living in feces and urine, covered in fleas, dehydrated and starving.

On a scale of one to 10, advocates rated the situation at 10.

“There are several feet of feces and debris throughout that property. We’ve got puppies hiding under the debris,” said Scotlund Haisley, President of Animal Rescue Corps.

The owner of the dogs, Jessie Gilbert, was arrested Tuesday and charged with 18 counts of cruelty to animals. Gilbert posted bond and spoke with Local 8 News about the charges. He said he didn’t understand why he was being charged.
