$10K REWARD OFFERED FOR INFO ON MORGAN COUNTY MURDER SUSPECT

Family and friends of a Morgan County murder victim are offering a $10,000 reward for anyone with specific information that can lead to an arrest.

Jerry “Pete” McCarroll was found dead on April 18. Bob Edwards with the District Attorney’s General Russell Johnson’s office said the body was found at around 6:30 a.m. outside the Allied Metal Recovery & Refining business on Gouge Hollow Road.

Officials said McCarroll was badly beaten and shot. They believe the suspect stole several thousand dollars in cash from McCarroll at the time. Officers say they think they discovered the body within minutes of the murder, so the suspect would have been in the area sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.  To provide information, call the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s hotline at 1-800-824-3463 or speak to Detective Mike Wren with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office at 423-346-6262.
