SOFT LOCK-DOWN TODAY AT NORTH CUMBERLAND ELEMENTARY, ALERT ISSUED TO PARENTS
There was a soft-lock down today at North Cumberland Elementary School. A ‘voice recording’ from the School’s Principal, Jennifer Magnusson, was sent to parents at 4:10 pm advising of the soft lock-down earlier in the day. As you’ll hear in the message, no students or teachers were in danger during the soft-lock down. According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, a non-custodial parent had discovered the whereabouts of a child and made threatening statements to the custodial parent about going to get the child. That’s when the soft-lock down happened. Precautions were taken at the school in case the non-custodial parent showed up – which they never did.
